Research fields

Food and Taste                          Børns viden om smag [Children’s knowledge of Taste] Nordeafonden: Smag For Livet (2014-2018 (Fieldwork in schools) + 2018-21 (Fieldwork on chefs’ education). Appointed member of the Danish Gastronomic Academy. A series of Experimental research events and Living Labs on food and taste at Aarhus Food Festival, 2013 – 2021. Member of Editorial Board of Food and Foodways. Co-editing the book: Making Taste Public(Bloomsbury 2018), and Chefs, Restaurants and Sustainability (Arkansas University Press 2024). Initiator of the project Creative Tastebuds. Head of Centre for Food Culture Studies (FOCUS). NOVA project (AUFF) 2024-25: The Vegetable Transition.

Childhood - Youth Studies          Ph.d.project (1997-2001) finansed by FSE, Barndom og Velfærd, managed by prof. Jens Qvortrup. Extensive publishing in the field of childhood studies.

Home and welfare                      Børn og unge på døgninstitutioner [Children and Youth at Children’s Institutions] (2004-2007), managed by prof. Ole Steen Kristensen, Aarhus University. Med fremtiden som handlerum, [With the Future as Space for Agency] FKK (2008-2011), managed by Anne Line Dalsgård. 

Visual Anthropology                  Produced the film: Aske, et hjertebarn med spiseproblemer (1990). Kompetencefonden: Filming for Fieldwork, Manchester University, July 2014 + July 2016. AUFF Grant 2015: Camera and editing workshop, Kort- og Dokumentarfilmskolen, okt. 2018 + feb 2020 + Maj 2021. Kompetencefonden and AUFF: Cuban Connection Work, funding for film production 2019. Produced and published the film: Henrik, Linn & Fidel.(Vimeo.com). Long engagement in museum anthropology.

International relations                AUFF Grant Spring 2014: Host for Visiting Professor Dr. Carole Counihan, Millersville University: developing food studies at Aarhus University. Hosting visiting professors from Havana University, Vanessa Sanchez and Milagros Dulce (april 2016). Responsible for general agreement between Havana University and Aarhus University. Wide experience as speaker, presenter, conference-, panel- and Ph.d. course organizer at international level. Member of International Society of Gastronomic Sciences and Studies, The Gastronomic University, Pollenzo. Research collaboration with researchers from Norway, Sweden, US, Italy, Germany, Japan, Canada, Cuba, Spain, France, UK, Colombia and more.
